The best Pinewood Derby in town is slated for March 8 at 6:00 in the La Casa de Cristo Gathering Place. Be sure to register your car the night before–we will be doing official inspections and registration in the Gathering Place from 6 to 8 p.m. If your car is not registered, it cannot race!
We also strongly encourage all racers to attend one of the upcoming practice sessions (information below) to test-run your car and make sure it will be eligible to race in the Derby.
See you all at the races!
The annual Pack 316 Pinewood Derby is rapidly approaching! Come test your car at our Derby practice sessions in the Gathering Place at La Casa de Cristo. We’ll have the track set up for test runs and can take your car through a simulated “inspection” to make sure they comply with the Derby rules. We also will have a “repair area” for adjustments and modifications.
You can come any time during the practice session, although we will close things down promptly at 8 p.m. on Friday and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
We STRONGLY recommend that everyone come to one of the practices to make sure your car is race-ready and will pass inspection.
The annual Pack 316 Blue & Gold will be on February 9 at 6:00 p.m. in the Pinnacle High School cafeteria. Our theme for this year is “Arizona Points of Interest.” We will have awards, food, a $1 raffle, and a guest speaker. Each Scout and one guest get in free; additional guests are $5 each (with a family limit of $20). Hope to see you there!
Come join us at Dave & Busters in Desert Ridge Marketplace for our Pack Spirit Night on January 29. A portion of the evening’s proceeds (excluding alcohol sales) goes directly to Pack 316. If you are interested in helping raise funds for the Pack by participating in our Power Card presale, please check with your den leaders.
The Winter Campout is coming up soon! Join us at Heard Scout Pueblo for a fun weekend. If you can’t camp with us, be sure to come up for the day on Saturday.
Happy Holidays to all Pack 316 families and friends!
Come join us for our annual Sleigh Races on December 14 at Desert Horizon Park (Policeman’s Park). Our dens will race their homemade sleighs and we’ll have food and hot cocoa. We’re also looking forward to welcoming our friends from Troops 109 and 616! If you’d like to volunteer to bring a crockpot of chili, soup, etc., please sign up on the SignUpGenius that will be circulated.
Please plan to arrive by 5:45 p.m. for setup.
Our annual Scouting for Food drive begins on Saturday, October 27 at 9:00 a.m. with bag dropoff, and closes on November 3 at 10:00 with food pickup. Pack 316 collected more than 2,500 pounds of food last year; let’s see if we can surpass that number this year!
Join us for our November Pack Meeting at the MIM on Saturday, November 17. Check-in will be from 1:00-1:30, with a brief Pack meeting and awards ceremony at 1:30. You can then explore the museum until closing time.
The Pack will cover entry for each Scout and one adult partner. Additional guests are $8 at the door.
Be sure to join us for Movie Night on October 12. We’ll open with a quick Pack meeting and awards, then move to our feature presentation. Please note the location; this meeting is not at La Casa de Cristo. Hope to see you there!
Pack 316 is heading north to Camp Raymond for a weekend of fun! Links to the flyer, schedule, and campsite map are below. We will circulate an Evite for headcount; please respond and let us know how many in your family plan to attend. If you have Scouts in more than one den, please tell us which den you want to camp with.
